I Want to Bedazzle Mine.
Ocean Safe and Still Black on Black. Good Color Choice
Just prior to the start of the Summer Gods tour, the guys put up a video about not using plastic bottles during the tour.
They were going to use black swell aluminum water bottles instead of plastic.
Each of their names were written on the lower part of the bottle in masking tape with black sharpie. Stephan later tweeted that he wished his bottle was bedazzled.
On June 13th, I decided to order a black aluminum water bottle and I was going to try and bedazzle it for him. Thanks to Amazon Prime, it came two days later. I have to tell you that I am not the craftiest person nor do I consider myself very artistic. I really was not sure how to do this project, all I knew is that I wanted to have his name on it. So off I went to Michaels and found some bling that I could use.
I allowed my first attempt to dry overnight and it was a complete disaster. Thanks to my poor technique, the previous day I knew what NOT to do. It was time for a second attempt. I had to factor in time for drying before I left for Boston. It had to be completely dry by the time I put it in the box and got on the plane. I didn't have very much time to work with. I did the first letter and sent a picture of it to Liseli on messenger.
She sent hearts back which made me feel like I was going in the right direction. I sat at my kitchen table for very long time finishing those seven letters. I also included some stars at the end of his name because, of course, he is the greatest rock star ever.
I only had less than 24 hours to let it dry before I had to get on a plane and fly to the East Coast. I didn't have meet and greet at my first show on the East Coast, so I waited until Jones Beach to attempt to give it to him. Security at the venue were all sketchy about me bringing it in. But I insisted I was able to convince the tour manager Dylan that it was safe and to give me permission. I did present it to Stephan who was surprised and all smiles. He said "No Fuckin Way" and that he loved it.
I did see him use it during a soundcheck at the Philly show. But I really lost my mind when I saw him use it during an actual show. I was jumping up and down. My friends were so happy and excited for me. Later in the tour, I actually had people send me some pictures of him still using it on stage.
I was fortunate to be able to attend and have an opportunity to have meet and greet at the Jimmy Miller Foundation Benefit show in Hermosa Beach. I had a crazy idea to walk up and say, “Hi, I am water bottle girl.”
He was so wonderful, kind and sweet. He told me how much he loves it, how he uses it all the time and how it makes him smile every time he sees it. Brad added that he was impressed with the glue and how well the bling has stayed on. I responded that I was thrilled that he loves it and am so happy he is using it.
What I really felt was for all the joy he has given me through his music....it’s the very least I could do.
