She took the time out of her life to share the story of her 3EB ink with me in honor of the greatest rock star ever. - Amanda Olsen Birlew
Amanda Birlew: Hi Bridget, I'm really excited to get to sit down and talk to you about your 3eb ink. I love that you took a departure from using a lyric or the emblem like most and got something completely one of a kind, Stephan's guitar and his autograph. How did you decide on that?
Bridgett Colson: Thank you! It's a pleasure and an honor to do so. First off, I could never narrow it down to one lyric because there are so many he has written that have meaning to me in their own right. I’ve had to face down my own demons and was to the point of giving up but through it all I always had one consistent, that being his music. It was always the one and only thing I could always turn to that got me through. So in his own right he unknowingly is my hero. His guitar is a beauty and part of what made his music flourish, hence the reason for tattooing it with his autograph that he had given me. The tattoo is a dedication to him, for the impact he's had on mine and so many other lives.
AB: Wow, Bridget. I'm impressed. Was this tattoo idea something you mulled over for a while or did it just come to you?
BC: That's a funny story as I was dead set on Stephan's signature being a part of the tattoo. I had planned that I would have him sign my wrist at the VIP meet and greet then go to a shop and have them tattoo over the signature; only it didn't go as planned. I was so excited and nervous when I stepped up to have my picture with him; I was in such awe that after all these years that I finally got to meet him. I had the envelope with the concert tickets in my hand and when the time for the autograph came I reached up with that hand and before I could get any words out Stephan took the envelope and signed it. I was too shy to ask for another autograph and graciously accepted the signed envelope. The tattoo was done off of that. I drew the image of Stephan’s acoustic guitar – it’s my favorite of his and I have to say it looks great with his signature beside it.
AB: Where was your ink done?
Hyperion Tattoo – the artists name was Soul.
AB: I know you tweeted you ink when it was nice and fresh to Stephan and he retweeted it pretty quickly, tell me what that moment felt like.
BC: This question has immediately brought back the stir of butterflies as I recall that very moment. I honestly never expected that to happen and it caught me off guard when I saw the notification that he had retweeted it. I was so ecstatic and couldn't stop smiling, I rode that moment for days, still do actually! It's those little things in life that mean the world. It did to me! Thank you Stephan for giving me that incredible moment.
AB: Those moments are priceless. Do you have any plans for more 3eb inspired ink?
BC: Actually there is one more piece to go with this tattoo if all goes as planned. I'm going to keep that a secret until it actually happens. If it doesn't, I'm 100 % perfectly content with the one I have.
AB: You’ve mentioned that you have VIP again for the upcoming Fall of Summer Gods tour – what are your hopes for that experience?
BC: I hope that I’ll have the opportunity to share my new ink with Stephan, and to tell him what an inspiration he is to me and everyone else at 3EB Lifestyle. I hope to hear at least a preview of some of the new songs that will be released soon as the anticipation is killing me! And I’m really hoping I’ll score one of those guitar string bracelets; it will go perfectly with my ink.
Stephan, on behalf of 3EB lifestyle I wish you the happiest birthday; may your next trip around the sun be all your heart desires. Mad. Blind. Love. ~Amanda
