Floating over Columbus May 23, 2009
May 23, 2009
i almost never dive into the crowd. it just seemed to make some kind of sense last night and i have to say, it felt good. for a moment, i looked up at the sky floating flat on my back with my arms out and just listened to the music. then of course someone tried to rip my mic out of my hand and then pull my in ear monitors out and i remembered why it's not a good idea for me to dive in.
also, i am of the belief that crowd surfing is really for chicks. boys tend to be too heavy and tend to squish people --bad. i want a big sea of messy bliss in the pit, not collisions.
anyway, last night was great. i was filled with energy. i'm pretty tired during the day on tour as i put everything into playing every night.
speaking of last nights. columbus was the last night of our beloved upwelling. those guys are my brothers. we've played so many shows together, we're like one band. bands often keep and respect distence with each other while touring. we have none of that with them. it's al just one big happy hang. we will definitely play together again,
i am laying in my big bed on my tour bus as i write this and ohio countryside if rolling by out my window -- on our way to cleveland.
