Is It Good For You?

Is It Good For You?

“Cause all I want to do is be there for the things that you’re going through. Well, is it good for you, is it good for you?”

This is a poignant lyric right now because as the world spins out of control all we can really do is be there for each other. There has been so much going on it’s hard to know where to start, but I’m going to start with what hits home the most right now.

A vicious attack on concert goers. All of us on this site love Third Eye Blind and most try to attend as many concerts as possible. It’s easy to see the horrific scenes from Vegas, to look back at Paris and Manchester and start to wonder if your happy place has become a danger. It’s easy to become paralyzed by fear; especially if you already suffer with anxiety.

Third Eye Blind, Mandalay Bay, 2010

Here is my plan to conquer all fear, “I believe in the faith that grows and four right chords can make me cry, when I’m with you I feel like I could die and that would be all right, all right.”  I’m going to embrace that lyric at each concert I’m attending in November. I will not be paralyzed with fear, but will continue to lose myself in the moment and feel the connection of the band and the lyrics and the loved ones around me. I will let the music heal my broken heart for all the senseless lives taken; while enjoying music together. What I have found weird about my reaction to all of this is a calm in me that says loud and clear; you know what, it’s time to get rid of the non-dairy creamers in my life. There is too much fake bullshit and game playing in the world and nobody has time for that. It’s about loyalty and about love. It’s about fighting the good fight, even if it’s with yourself to go to a concert when you’re scared.

Obviously Mother Nature is pissed off that there are too many powerful non-believers on climate change so she’s kicking ass and taking names. Houston, Florida, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands all hit with floods and hurricanes of differing degrees. The Mexico City massive earthquake and the 50,000 people have fled the Mount Agung volcano on the Indonesian tourist island of Bali, fearing an imminent eruption. Montana has lost over a million acres due to wildfires as of September 6th. Earthquakes, volcanos, fires, and floods – she’s pissed.

I can’t ever seem to write an article without mentioning my disgust in the POS Trump. Where do I even begin with his incompetence? He has probably already tweeted or said at least two more inappropriate statements while I’m writing this. Puerto Rico is a United States territory and he has treated it like, well, like he treats all brown people. Like they are garbage. {Side note: A few years ago I went to Puerto Rico and spent some time in Rincon and San Juan. We drove from beach to beach enjoying the beauty of the land and of the people. Everybody was so lovely and friendly and I plan on returning someday.}

He attacked the Mayor of San Juan because she criticized him because people are literally dying from lack of supplies, medical care, water and food. I knew he was the worst, but he literally has outdone himself this time. Stating basically they are free loaders. I can’t even begin to deal with that statement. It’s his job, it’s the government’s job to take care of its people during a disaster; not ridicule them and say they just want handouts. Did he dare say that to Houston or Florida? Why is it okay for this man to continue to prove he’s totally racist, but here he is still large and in charge? He stated today that this wasn’t a real disaster like Katrina. He’s right, it isn’t, it is worse! He puts Americans at risk everyday with his pissing contest with another psycho, Kim Jong-un. I don’t know about you, but I don’t feel like worrying about a nuclear war because the leader of our country wants to call a known psychopath “little rocket man.” What the hell is wrong with this guy? Once again I find myself saying, “I’m only pretty sure that I can’t take it anymore.”

Donald Trump lambasts Kim Jong-un at a rally in Huntsville, Alabama, on Friday night, saying 'we have no choice' with North Korea. Trump called Kim 'little rocket man' and described him as a madman.

Basically this is a rant of some of my grievances and as I do this I try to always remember that each individual can make a difference and provide information of different organizations helping on the various happenings in the world.

Donald Trump's speech to the United Nations general assembly upset Kim Jong-un, and now, the North Korean leader has responded leading us to ask the question: are we on the brink of a nuclear war?

Below is a list of charities that are specific to causes that may be near and dear to your heart – I have not fully vetted these organizations, so please do your own research to find one that fits your needs:
