Interview: Janelle Morrow
Our Fan of the Week is Janelle Morrow and our Guest Interviewer is Lauren Sebastian.
As much as we love the music of Third Eye Blind, what we love just as much are the communities and friendships we have built around our love of the band.
All of that love and appreciation for everything the band is to all of us is in this article. Thank you both so much. - 3EB Expert Bella Wolf
Lauren Sebastian: Third Eye Blind fans are all ages and some are brand new and some have been there since day one. How long have you been "in the blind?"
Janelle Morrow: I’ve been a fan since first hearing Semi-Charmed Life on the radio, 20 years ago.
Lauren Sebastian: I was lucky enough to talk to Kryz after the Vegas show along with you. I know you were really excited about that! Tell us about it. :)
Janelle Morrow: I was hoping to meet Kryz at some point over the weekend, felt I needed to introduce myself since I run his tributes and he’s adorable. I was thrilled when he finally came out after the Vegas show. I introduced myself and told him I had been stalking him with Lucky Charms on Twitter all day. He proceeded to tell me his Lucky Charms cereal story, which I knew since his tribute was about that a couple of weeks prior. He also asked who @FookinIrish was… unfortunately, I did not have an answer on that one. Hopefully next time we can discuss something other than Lucky Charms!
Lauren Sebastian: So many people have made true friendships through Third Eye Blind and their music. I know that includes you. Any new besties from this summer?
Janelle Morrow: Well, I spent most of my time with Lizette and she is awesome and so much fun… I see more road trips in our future! However, everyone I met the last week of shows… you, Kari, Adam, Amanda, Bella, Emma, Liseli, etc. are truly wonderful. I look forward to getting to know you all better and spending more time together - as well as making new friends!
Lauren Sebastian: What's your favorite and least favorite Third Eye Blind album? And why?
Janelle Morrow: My go to album is ‘A Collection’… does that count? That one has most of my favorite songs on it and was the only one I had in my car for the longest time. My least favorite, or the one I rarely listen to, is probably Ursa Major. I don’t really know why.
Lauren Sebastian: If you got to have a sit down (non-date) meal and conversation with any member of the band, who would you choose?
Janelle Morrow: Oh, that’s a tough one… almost like asking what kid is my favorite. It’s probably not who everyone would expect. Right now, I’d have to say Brad, I think he’d be fun. He’s like this sweet, quiet guy with a mischievous side and his IG stories and Snaps always crack me up.
Lauren Sebastian: How many Summer Gods shows did you make it to? And which one was the most memorable?
Janelle Morrow: I’m not sure if Tahoe counts so, I went to two Summer Gods shows...Vegas and Berkeley. Both shows blew me away. I was actually surprised at how great of a crowd was in Vegas, that place was loud, and it was my first time seeing the big production. I also met some cool people. Berkeley was something extra special to be a part of… met even more cool people and the band was so on that night - and all the feels, it still gives me chills.
