Life Is Not To Fear, Life Is To Enjoy
Nicole Coletta is one of my very favorite Misfit friends I’ve made over the years; she’s the perfect combination of sass, kindness, rad-ness, and love.
She’s just a truly beautiful soul inside and out. I’m pleased to share her interview about her #3eb ink below.
Amanda Birlew: What inspired your 3eb ink?
Nicole Coletta: I love tattoos, I love Third Eye Blind, and when your life flashes before your eyes, and lyrics resonate in your soul, like, "Life is not to fear, Life is to enjoy" you need to get that tattooed on you. Also, when Stephan grabs your arm and stares at it for a few seconds and asks you if he can sign your arm, you let him, and then you go get his signature tattooed on your arm.
AB: Does the placement have any significance?
NC:I kind of want a music inspired sleeve, and I figured this was the perfect tattoo to get that started. I also wanted to be able to see it.
AB: Who was the artist; where was the shop located?
NC: His name is Bill, and the shop is located in Quincy Point, Massachusetts. The shop is called Granite City. Bill is the absolute shit; he loves all types of Artwork and Music. We literally talked non-stop about music every time he's tattooed me.
AB: What would you like the boys to know about it?
NC: They know about my tattoo, Stephan especially.
AB: Any plans for more 3eb inspired ink?
NC: If Brad ever signed my arm, I'd also get that tatted because his signature is AWESOME. I plan on doing some more, more discreet, Third Eye Blind work in the future.
AB: Is there anything else you'd like to share about your tattoo?
NC: I literally look at it every day because I love it so much. Anytime I'm going through a hard time, or feeling down, I read it and realize life isn't that bad.
AB: Did you design the tattoo, or did the tattoo artist help bring your vision to life?
NC: I designed the tattoo for the most part, besides Stephan deciding where he wanted to sign my arm, I chose the font. I wanted something whimsy, that looked like free hand.
