What is a Buffalo: Who is Vic Bigley?

Imagine this, you're in a famous rock band that's been hired to play in San Francisco during Superbowl weekend. You play a charity event that is over-priced for most of your dedicated fans.

How can you play a more accessible show without taking away from the charity event happening in the same weekend? Create a new band name and play a secret show in a tiny venue! Then proceed to create alter-egos for all of the band members and promote the secret show by mentioning the new band name in interviews.

This is exactly what Third Eye Blind did in San Francisco in February 2016. The show itself was legendary, but today I'm more interested in talking a bit more about one of those alter-egos. Alex LeCavalier, the buffalo, was one the of the band members that had the most fun with his alter-ego, Vic Bigley. His twitter page was created February 2nd, 2016 and was pretty active up until the secret show and even for a little bit after. Having this new persona seemed to be great fun for Alex. He posted all his tweets in all caps (shouty!) and bragged about himself, the band and his great love of blow jobs. Immediately before the secret show he tweeted:

Before you get too excited ladies, yes, that is an actual banana in his pants - cue the endless banana jokes. During the show itself, he pulled the banana out, peeled it, took a bite and then threw it into the audience. As another part of Vic's character, Alex wore a bandana over his face for the entirety of the show (and to the dismay of some of his bigger fans that wanted to see his face).

Will the band ever play another Dazzleships show? We may never know, but for now, the twitter accounts of The Dazzleships and the band alter-egos are all still active. We can hope.
